MUSICAL THEATRE CLASS DESCRIPTION-Selections for JUNGLE BOOK - Ages 6-12
The jungle is jumpin’ with singing, dancing and acting in Selections from The Jungle Book. This 30 minute version is adapted from the classic film and includes such tunes, like “The Bare Necessities,” and “I Wan’na Be Like You.”

On the run from Shere Khan, a ferocious tiger who has banished him from the jungle, a human boy named Mowgli is aided by an agile panther named Bagheera. Along the way, the two meet a sinister snake named Kaa, a herd of elephants, and a giant bear named Baloo, who teaches them the swingin’ musical rhythms of the jungle. After surviving a dangerous encounter with a band of monkeys led by King Louie, Mowgli and Bagheera are forced to run for their lives. Shere Khan returns, leading our protagonists to rally their fellow jungle creatures into battle and restore peace to the jungle.

Class Day & Time: Monday-Friday, June 15-26, 4:30-5:30pm
Performance: Saturday, June 27, 2015, 2:30pm

Class Description – Improv for the Actor, Singer, Dancer
This course is designed to help the actor, singer and dancer think on their feet, to problem solve, to react honestly to the moment and to respond to one’s immediate environment and feelings. Instructor, Steven Kavner, is the Peabody Award winning Producer of the PBS series, Wishbone, and a former member of the famous improvisational company The Groundlings. Steven has taught at the acclaimed Stella Adler Academy in LA as well as his own studio, Improv for the Actor.

 

 

 

 

All programs must meet minimum enrollment. If a class does not meet minimum enrollment, the program is canceled and tuition is refunded.

 

Students should bring a non-refrigerated lunch and snacks along with capped drinks to each class.

 

Students are not allowed to leave Dimensions Dance Zone during the class time unless accompanied by parent or guardian.
